-Dan-
Good News Bible Church is an independent, evangelical, non-denominational gathering of people who are learning what it means to walk by faith - in life and in their relationship with Jesus.
We believe that what we do flows from who we are. The Bible teaching at GNBC, rather than focusing on a list of rules we must obey, places the emphasis on Jesus and His Grace. This is what the Bible calls The Gospel, or The Good News.
We believe He gives us a new identity and a healed, life-giving relationship with God. This relationship with Him changes everything.
When you ‘come home to Good News’ you will discover that we are a diverse biblical community. You will encounter followers of Jesus, as well as seekers and doubters. Everyone is
welcome.
Our desire is that you would come, see and experience Jesus
and His Grace being noticeably lived out at Good News.
To extend our regional influence for Grace.
The mission of Good News Bible Church is to lead growing numbers of
people to enjoy a grace-filled relationship with Jesus.
In short, we are turning toward Grace.
Whether you are attending Good News or any church for the first time, knowing what to expect can help to put you at ease. We hope the following information will make your visit with us both a helpful and positive experience.
LOCATION - Where is Good News Bible Church? Currently, we are meeting in the Center for Independent Living of North Central PA at 24 East 3rd St. We ask that you use the side doors to the east of the building, right next to the parking lot. As you enter the building, the friendly staff on our Guest Relations Team will be available to help you find your way to our gathering space and answer any questions you may have.
PARKING - Where can I park without getting a ticket? On Sunday mornings, parking is free in all downtown area lots. You are welcome to use the parking lot to the east of the building.
GATHERING - What are the gatherings like at Good News? Our gatherings are
relaxed and relevant. Please feel free to dress comfortably and bring a cup of your favorite coffee with you. We also provide free coffee and baked goods prepared by our Hospitality Team. Each gathering will last about an hour, with a time of relevant bible teaching followed by singing led by our band. Pastor Dan teaches from the English Standard Version (ESV) of the Bible, however, you are welcome to bring
any version you are using. If you do not have a Bible, we will provide one for you or you can follow the message through the power point presentation.
An offering is taken, but money is not desired from our guests. We
are simply delighted that you have come to join us.
CHILDREN - Is there something there for my children? Yes! The Imagination Station is our Childrens Ministry for kids from ages 2 to 10 years old. This activity takes place during the teaching time of our main gathering. Your children will start off their time at Good News with our children's ministry team. They will return to you after the message as we close our gathering with a time of singing and reflection. Nursery services are available for children up to 2 years of age.

The "GOOD NEWS" is that God has taken the initiative to restore our broken relationship with Him. The surprising truth is we aren't reaching Him at all. He is lovingly reaching us.
Why do we need the "GOOD NEWS" in the first place? We believe we have a Maker who created us with the purpose of enjoying a loving relationship with him. Unfortunately, because of our pride and self-centeredness - our wanting to be like god rather than worship God - sin entered the world inflicting its destruction on everything we know and hold dear. The greatest tragedy of sin is the loss of a transparent, authentic connection with the God who made us.
What do we mean by 'sin?' Sin is anything in our lives that takes priority over God. It always leads to pain, frustration, separation, and eventually death. We all feel the pain of sin because, in some way or another, we all fall short of God's highest intentions for our lives. Even "good" people who avoid the "big" sins are falling short of God's highest intentions.
When Jesus died on the cross, He provided a way back to a joyful, authentic, grace-filled relationship with God. This is what we were created to enjoy. You should know the only barrier remaining between you and an authentic relationship with your Maker is your unbelief about Jesus. The Bible says that, "God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not counting people's sins against them." This means you can enjoy a restored relationship simply by believing that Jesus is who he says He is, and that he did what the Bible says he did. Jesus explained this in the wisest, simplest way possible when He said, "Anyone who believes in me has life." Those seven simple words have changed millions of lives. We're not asking you to make promises and commitments to be a good person because they don't work. We're asking you to turn from self confidence to confidence in Jesus.
Once we make Jesus our point of confidence for real life, we begin a lifelong faith-based journey into a growing relationship with our loving Maker. It's a journey where we are learning to walk by faith in new ways each and every day. Good News Bible Church is a community of people who embrace this faith journey. Why don't you come and walk with us?
Why don't you "Come Home to Good News"?
