Children’s Ministry

It’s our desire that every child who walks through our doors will experience the Grace of God and begin learning what it means to walk by faith. We present biblical truths in ways that children understand using fun and creative teaching methods, exciting music, and zany activities. In the ‘Imagination Station’ environment, your children will build strong relationships and discover how the things they have learned connect to real life. Come and see how much fun learning about our God can be!

Young Adults Ministry

Our Young Adults Ministry is called RESPONSE to clearly define the simplicity of the Christian life: we are RESPONDERS to the Grace of God made visible in Jesus. We endeavor to confront high school and college aged people with the raw truth of the gospel in relevant ways using creative media, music, and teaching. Our hope is for every young adult who attends Good News to meet Jesus and to RESPOND to Him, holding nothing back. We also want to make sure every young adult gets connected in community with other young adults and with older church members who will challenge, encourage, and care for them. Ultimately, we aim to challenge young adults to wholeheartedly RESPOND to God, while impacting their world for Jesus.

Men’s Ministry

At Good News, we believe that a profound need in the church, and in society, is a robust and biblical ideology of masculinity. With this motivation, we challenge men to ‘fix their eyes on Jesus’ who was the greatest man to walk the face of our planet. Throughout the year, our men’s ministry holds several Men’s Breakfasts, periodic training events, and a yearly retreat. We emphasize cross-generational interaction so that the wisdom of our fathers is passed on to the next generation. Our vision is to build a community that is packed with strong, compassionate, and sacrificial husbands, fathers, brothers, uncles, and grandfathers who are willing to stand in the shadow of the One of whom Pilate said, “Behold, The Man.” (John 19:5)

Women's Ministry

The Women's Ministry of Good News desires to cultivate a welcoming and loving environment that provides opportunities for women to connect and establish meaningful relationships. The most important of all relationships, of course, is that with the Lord Jesus. Our desire is that we understand and embrace the grace of God and the value He places on us as women. As we respond to His grace in our lives, and find our identity in Him, we discover the resources to become the women He intends us to be and fulfill that purpose for which He has created us. This is evidenced as we reach out to other women, especially those outside of our church family, trusting that they too will discover and respond to God's grace. From women's Bible studies, retreats, breakfasts, and other events, we seek to encourage each other in our daily walk of faith and provide opportunities for women to connect and establish meaningful relationships.

Connect Groups

Everyone needs to have some fun once and awhile! We at Good News are no different. Through our Connect Groups, we are able to get together as a church family outside of a Sunday morning to just have some fun together. From meals, to campfire cookouts, to special trips, our Connect Groups are the place to be!

"D2" (Disciples Making Disciples)

"(D)2" means Disciples Making Disciples. This group is for those who want to explore the next step in their spiritual journey and to learn how to help others find their next steps as well. The Christian life was never meant to be a solo act. In this group, we come together as equals to help each other, to learn from each other, and to grow alongside each other.

Community Outreach

We LOVE our city! There is no other way to put it. Williamsport is full of all kinds of people in many different walks of life, but the common thread among them all is they are all our brothers and sisters in Christ… they are all Children of God. Throughout the year, we enter the mission field right in our backyard to show love and to share Jesus. We never go out with the goal to preach to people, we go out to love and to build relationships with people just like Jesus did with us.

World Missions

The vision of Good News extends beyond Lycoming County. Since our inception, we have involved ourselves with a diverse missionary family. We currently support church planting endeavors in Africa, Papua New Guinea, Brazil, and we contribute to support ministries in Florida. Our exposure to cross-cultural ministries enriches our lives, challenges our perceptions, and enhances our sense of purpose in life.
